The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This work has been restored. It does not seem to be dirty. Under ultraviolet light, it can be seen that the foreground, trees and architecture are beautifully preserved. The condition is similarly good in the sky, showing only a few retouches above the house on the left and in three or four spots on the right side. The varnish could be freshened, but otherwise the work should be hung as is.
