Condition
Generally very good-to-excellent condition. There are surface scratches consistent with age and use.The pins holding the handle have been out and put back. There is a naturally occurring abrasion to the handle. Although re-gilded, the colour and character of the gilding are consistent with Russian silver of this period. The marks and engraved eagle are crisp and clear. Good weight and very nice in the hand.

The struck and engraved inventory numbers are identical in character to those of lot 140, the Catherine the Great wine cooler, suggesting, along with the engraved Imperial eagle, that the present lot was also part of the Russian Imperial collections.
