Description

of rectangular form, a hinged pair of doors framed by top and side panels, the back with two softwood panels joined to a central hardwood strip,  all set into a conforming base with fixed upright posts extending over the top and flanked by shaped brackets, the interior with two hardwood fronted softwood shelves, the lower over a pair of drawers, huangtong mounts

Collection of Jane and Markus Chaplain, California.

Condition

The soft wood back boards and shelves as well as the hardwood back centerboard and shelf and drawer fronts are later replacements.The grain of the spandrels may have been enhanced. There is shrinkage to the front and side panels. The mounts are later added. There has been overall consolidation and minor repairs consistent with age and use.Please note that this lot will require a CITES permit for export outside of the United States.
