Description

  • Porcelain; Woodstand (Dalberigia)
comprising a Kangxi turquoise-glazed brushpot carved with blossoming lotus in relief; an 19th century green-glazed openwork brush rest with five peaks; an 18th century copper-red glazed censer; and a 17th/18th century miniature 'Dehua' water buffalo, wood stand; together with a Japanese 19th century 'Sanda' celadon-glazed T-shaped carved brush washer supported on three lobed feet (6)

Condition

The turquoise brushpot in overall good condition with only minor expected wear to the surface and foot and the base is slightly uneven. The brush rest with one of the end peaks off and re-attached, a small chip to the base and two glaze flakes to the front. The censer in overall good condition, but with glaze pulls to the well and a small glazed over potting flaw to the exterior.The celadon brush washer in mostly good condition but with two pits to the interior from firing (each approx. 3 mm), minor surface wear, and some unglazed patches to the base and legs. The 'Dehua' water buffalo with chips to the ends of both hooves and one ear. Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
