- A collection of c.117 watercolours of Bosnia by Eduard Loidolt. [1880-1882, a few 1892]

WATERCOLOURS of views, events, scenes, figures, occupations, objects, etc., most captioned and/or signed and dated by the artist (image sizes vary: 50 x 35mm. to 200 x 290mm.), all but one window mounted, occasionally more than one image per mount, one framed and glazed, housed in 2 boxes, a few minor defects

Eduard Loidolt (1854-1912) was an officer in the Austro-Hungarian army of occupation in Bosnia which had recently been ceded, after over 400 ye🤡ars of Ottoman rule, through the treaty of Berlin in 1878. In later years he held the position of Professor of Drawing at Theresianum (Theresian Academy in𒀰 Vienna).
