Notley Abbey Inventory, April 1948, p. 27, Principal Landing and Corridors and Staircase to Hall, 'A Water Colour drawing, Lady in Plum colour Skirt, signed Motley, and two others, same artist' (The Vivien Leigh Archive, Victoria & Albert Museum, London, THM/433/6/1).

Unexamined out of frame. There is some time staining to the sheet. There is a small old tear and scuff to the sheet, to the right of the figure's head. There are one or two extremely tiny scuffs to the maroon pigment, as well as one tiny scuff and indention to the figure's skirt. There are one or two extremely tiny spots of foxing, only visible upon extremely close inspection. Subject to the above the work is in overall good condition.
