Condition
The canvas has not been lined and is securely attached to a keyed wooden stretcher which appears to be of the time. There is a small area of paint lifting in the beige canopy in the upper left quadrant - this might benefit from some consolidation. With the exception of some minor strokes of cosmetic retouching in the far lower left corner, visible under ultra-violet light, there is no other visible sign of retouching. This work is in good condition and is ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate. Colours are somewhat less red in reality than in the catalogue illustration.
