  • A group of 6 photographs signed, by the Nobel Prize winner and inventor of radio
7 photographs (from 3 3/8 x 5 3/8 in.; 85 x 137 mm, to 7 3/4 x 10 1/8 in.; 198 x 258 mm), to include 2 postcards.  All signed by Marconi, and some dated variously between 1932 and 1936; minor toning to a few images.

Catalogue Note

A remarkable collection of images, depicting Guglielmo Marconi, the great Italian inventor Marconi is best known for his pioneering work on long-distance radio transmission, and the development of a radio telegraph system. He is also credited as the inventor of radio. In 1909, Marconi was presented with the Nobel Prize in Physics, along with Karl Ferdinand Braun, "in recognition of their contributions to the development of wireless telegraphy."  In 1931, he set up the Vatican Radio for Pope Pius XI.
