The three-strand necklace composed of turquoise beads, the clasp centering a baroque cultured pearl measuring approximately 24.7 x 17.5 mm, framed by variously-cut rubies and turquoise cabochons, further set with round diamonds, gross weight approximately 285 dwts, length 25 inches, signed MdV.

In good condition overall. Stamped 750 for 18 karat white and yellow gold. The 94 turquoise beads display a bright medium blue color, some with slightly greenish overtones, with significant matrix and subtle color mottling. The baroque cultured pearl displays a silvery white body color with strong pink and soft green overtones, good luster and minor blemishing mainly in the form of pitting and uneven skins. The semi-transparent rubies are a medium to medium-deep slightly pinkish red to purplish red, heavily included with examples of surface-reaching inclusions, fractures, and abrasions at the facet junctions, visible under close inspection. The turquoise cabochons are medium-light slightly greenish blue, with some very minor matrix on one of the cabochons. The diamonds weighing in total approximately 1.30 carats are approximately G-H color, predominantly VS clarity. Clasp measures approximately 1½ x 1⅜ inches. Necklace bears a nice heft.
