Canvas is lined. Image reads well, but some of the paint surface is abraded, like for example on the brown colors in the foreground. There is craquelure throughout with spots of paint loss as with the top most sheep, at the upper edge at right, and bottom left corner among others. There is a scratch above the knee of the sheep that is resting at left. Inspection under UV shows some scattered spots of retouches on the sheep and background sky. What appears to be a fill fluoresces between the head and knee of the sheep at center, on the green ground, and on the right forward knee of the sheep that is resting.
