Condition
The circular panel is comprised of a single piece of wood that is uncradled with a very slight horizontal bow. Overall, the painting presents well, and retains the blue colors very vividly. Some lifting and very small paint losses, as visible on the catalogue image, are scattered, but mostly present on the center and bottom center of the panel. The lifting runs across the direction of the wood grains, from left to right. We suggest that this be attended to by a professional restorer. Inspection under UV reveal some retouching on Saint Stephen, specifically noticeable throughout his gown, and some scattered strokes on the robe his head rests on. Smaller spots of retouching are scattered on the red robes the female figures wear. The aforementioned lifting of the paint should be stabilized before hanging. The tondo is unframed.
