Condition

The oval shaped canvas is laid on a rectangular panel. The colors and details have been well preserved as seen with the sitter's luminous dress and pearled jewelry. Some of the impasto remains intact, most noticeable on the flowers the sitter wears on her head. Minor craquelure is throughout the canvas, but nothing too distracting. A very small and thin scratch is located at center right of the canvas next to the sitter's shoulder. Inspection under UV shows some small scattered retouches to the background and on the sitter's forehead and neck. Further reading under UV is impeded because of the varnish. The painting is offered in a carved, gilded wood frame.
