one of waisted cylindrical form painted en-grisaille with quatrefoil panels of landscapes separated by large flower sprigs reserved on a yellow ground, brown edged-rim, the other of inverted baluster form with blue edged cartouches containing flowers on a sponged-manganese ground,
Provenance
the yellow-ground vase, Otto Riesebieter collection, Oldenburg.
Condition
The yellow ground vase:
With two restored areas to the underside edge of the rim, and a restored hairline crack which extends approximately halfway down the body of the vase from the rim. The interior rim with over-painting.
The manganese ground vase:
The cover with finial re-stuck with a metal bolt, and restored flat chip to rim edge. The rim of the vase with flat chip and associated short hairline crack, some typical glaze loss to top edge. The footrim with two shallow chips and some small nibble chips.
