- rhionceros horn
- 10.1 cm, 4 in.
naturalistically carved in the form of a lotus pod emerging from broad petals forming the cup, borne on curved stems with a veined leaf forming the base, the horn of an attractive honey-brown tone
Provenance
An English private collection, thence by descent.
Condition
There are some minor nicks/chips along the edges (largest 0.2cm wide). One of the seeds in the pod has been slightly reduced/polished. There are some natural pitting and cracks to the horn.
