Catalogue Note
Jade covered incense burners worked in the form of archaic ritual bronze vessels were popular in the Qianlong period, and there are several examples preserved in the Palace Museum, Beijing. Compare a spinach jade censer of related form, illustrated in Zhongguo meishu fenlei quanji. Zhongguo yuqi quanji [Compendium of Chinese Jade], vol. 6, Qing, Hebei, 1991, pl. 348.
