Description

the globular body rising from a spreading foot to a waisted neck and everted rim, the shoulders applied with two animal mask handles supporting loose rings, the rich bronze surface artfully flecked with irregular gold splashes, the  inset base with a recessed rectangular cartouche enclosing an apocryphal Xuande seal mark

Collection of Sir Leon Bagrit (1902-1979).

Condition

The vase is in good condition with the exception of a small dent to the side (5mm diameter) and some light rubbing to the patina and minor nicks to the extremities, there are also very light scattered malachite encrustation at the base and a casting flaw and some nicks and scratches to the footrim.
