Description
- 20.7 cm, 8 1/4 in.
the shallow rounded sides rising from a short slightly tapered foot to a flared rim, the interior decorated with a dragon chasing a flaming pearl amidst scrolling cloud, the exterior with a continuous scene of mandarin ducks in lotus pond, the base inscribed with a six-character reign mark within double circles
Provenance
Collection of Gustav Detring (1842-1913) and/or Constantin von Hanneken (1854-1925), and thence by descent.
Condition
The rim of the dish has been polished with a 4cm., crescent-shaped section more heavily polished, a 1cm., glaze line to the exterior rim, glaze scratches to the interior and exterior, and minor glaze firing imperfections including iron-sports.
