Description

  • 12.5 cm, 5 in.
each compressed globular body rising from a short spreading foot to a short straight neck, white slip-decorated around the exterior with crane in a lotus pond and all reserved on a dark blue ground, the slightly domed cover similarly decorated with a kylin amidst fire scrolls, the base inscribed with the four-character mark fu gui jia qi,  as (beautiful vessel for the rich and honourable)

Condition

The jars and covers are in general good condition. Both jars with minor fritting to the rim. One cover with a tiny chip to the interior rim, and another shallow one closer to the glaze (approx. 1.2 cm). With some firing imperfections including some glaze inconsistencies, as well as iron spots and burst bubbles, and gritting to the base.
