Condition

Overall in very good condition. When viewed in person, the exterior glaze presents with a variety of indigo and Prussian blue tones, with intersecting gray-blue striations and interspersed with patches of sandy beige hues; the interior glaze matching these latter hues, as partially visible in the catalogue illustration. There is minor craquelure throughout the interior and exterior surfaces, visible on close inspection, as well as minor scattered particulate inclusions and air bubbles throughout, inherent to the production. The underside of the base with a minor loss to the glaze, exposing the bisque below, inherent in the production and due to the glaze sticking to the kiln shelf, measuring approximately 1/8 inch in diameter and not visible when the vase is upright. The underside also with what appears to be a trace remnant of the kiln shelf, measuring approximately 1/16 x 1/8 inch. The vase has been inspected under ultraviolet light and does not appear to have undergone any visible restoration. An extremely playful and almost anthropomorphic form in high relief.
