Condition

Overall in very good condition. The metal surfaces with fine scratches and minor wear throughout, and with minor rubbing to the bead detailing which reveals the bronze surfaces below as partially visible in the catalogue illustration, all consistent with age and gentle handling. The original alabaster shades have both been professionally sensitively restored and present with minor scratches, rubbing, and flecks throughout, not visually distracting and consistent with age and gentle handling. The interior areas to the inside of each shade have become white and opaque due to heat from the lightbulbs, as is typical with this material. Both shades exhibiting veining throughout, with a few thin hairline cracks and associated surface soil consistent with the age of the material, all stable and partially visible in the catalogue illustration. An attractive pair of sconces retaining the original alabaster shades from a master of French Art Deco design.
