Oil on canvas, unlined. The canvas is somewhat slack on the stretcher. The picture surface is in generally good condition aside from some very minor abrasions around the sitter's proper left temple. An area of retouching in the background at upper left has some minor loss. Under UV light, there are some pindot areas of florescence mainly in the subject's fur hat at his proper left temple and in the background at right.
