Condition
Very good condition overall with minor wear to the patina and surface dirt, particularly in the crevices, consistent with age and handling. The bronze is cast in various elements assembled with fine hairline joints and plugs visible at some places, including both legs, wings and arms of Eros. The bow is cast separately and is slightly loose. The tip of the arrow on Eros's proper right hand is bent. Minor chips are visible along the edges of the wooden base, consistent with age and handling.

The original plaster of this model is in the Thorvaldsen Museum, Copenhagen (inv. n° A22). A lifesize marble of this model can be seen in the Town Hall of Vienna.
