Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate despite being a little bit too reddish. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. As stated in the catalogue, the pair of porte-torchères is regilt. There are some chips and rubbed areas to the gilding, revealing the red bowl and the white gesso underneath. Both constructions are firm.
