Catalogue Note
Inspired by the legendary vintage spilt seconds model, the “Coussin-Tortue” that was made by Patek Philippe in the 1920’s, reference 5950 was launched in 2010 BaselWorld, reminiscing one of the most significant split-seconds chronograph wristwatches Patek Philippe has ever made. Reference 5950 is an extremely stylish split seconds chronograph wristwatch that encapsulates the history and tradition of Patek Philippe, combining superior watchmaking with sensational and modern design.
The design of the reference 5950 dial displays symmetrical Art Deco inspired floral decorations to the corners, which together with the Breguet numerals reflect the original elegance of the vintage ‘Coussin-Tortue’ split seconds chronograph models. Visible through the sapphire crystal display back, the frame of the movement is also decorated with same floral decorations on the dial, a design developed exclusively for this reference.
