• 13''' manual winding movement, 23 jewels, bi metallic compensation balance • silvered dial, applied yellow gold Roman numerals and baton indexes, yellow gold baton hands, blued steel chronograph hand, subsidiary dials for constant seconds and 30 minute register, outer minute track, outermost tachometer scale • 18k yellow gold case, concave bezel, solid snap on case back • case, dial, and movement signed • with an associated 18k yellow gold folding buckle
Condition
CASE
Case is oxidized throughout and with wear and surface scratches. Left side band with materials wear from opening and closing. The impression of the hallmark is still present. Scuffing and scratches and signs of previous polish. Case back with some undulating areas and small dents, especially toward the upper lugs, there is one deep dot shaped indentation. Two hallmarks present toward the center of the case back of two owls, an indicator of import to the French market.
Rectangular pushes are well shaped, and the case back is very thick. the spring bars are yellow gold.
Please note that the gold folding clasp is associated - hallmarked, but not signed Patek Philippe.
Crystal glazing with scuffs and scratches throughout.
DIAL
Dial is very attractive with crisp delineations. Light surface markings, and some debris.
MOVEMENT
The movement is running at time of cataloging, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement.

Catalogue Note
Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming the year of manufacture in 1952, and sale on October 22, 1953, with tachometer scale.
The present lot is offered with a wonderfully preserved silvered dial. It is also very interesting to note that the thick case back is stamped twice with French import hallmarks, suggesting that the present piece was made for the French market.
Ref. 130 was introduced in 1930 as the first Patek Philippe wristwatch made in series. Production for the reference continued for over 30 years, defining Patek Philppe's horological expertise in early chronograph wristwatches.
Examples of Ref. 130 are illustrated in Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, Patek Philippe Wristwatches, vol. 2, 2nd ed., p. 262–3.
