Catalogue Note
Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming the year of manufacture in 1910, and sale on August 11, 1922 with Breguet numerals, and the case back entirely decorated with engraved ornament. Patek Philippe began engraving cases and dials in the 18th century. The art of designing such an intricate motif takes not only time, but also the utmost precision. The present watch features a lovely white enamel dial, with a depiction of a lion engraved on the caseback. This elaborate sketch is not commonly seen, making this an excellent and rare representation of an early engraved pocket watch by the firm.
