Catalogue Note

Accompanied by an IWC Guarantee and Service booklet, instructional booklet, and a presentation box with outer packaging.  The reference 5442 was introduced in 2005 to honor the founder of IWC, F.A. Jones, and was available in three metals: steel, rose gold and platinum. Jones, a watchmaker from Boston, Massachusetts, relocated to Schaffhausen and established IWC in 1868. The rose gold edition was made in 1,000 pieces. The watch is a natural successor to the original Portuguese created by IWC in the 1930s with an oversized case and plain, highly legible dial.
