• manual winding nickel lever movement • cream dial, painted black radial Roman numerals, blued steel Breguet hands, inner minute track • 18k yellow gold Santos case, cabochon sapphire set crown, inscribed case back secured by four screws to the case band • dial and movement signed, case hand stamped with Cartier reference numbers and stamped EJ for Edmund Jaeger • with 18k deployant buckle stamped EJ
Condition
CASE
approximate length is inclusive of lugs. Approximate width is 22 mm.
Case stamped with two hallmarks to the left side case band, and two hallmarks to the case back. Case back hand stamped 12231 9345, and inscribed "W.A. SLATER."
Case in overall good condition with wear, light scuffing, and oxidation throughout. Some light superficial scratches. Upper screws to the right side band with some inconsistencies and scratches.
DIAL
Center arbor area is depressed with wear, loss of coating, and oxidation. A rounded scratch above the center arbor. A dot of oxidation or loss to the lower right of the center arbor. Oxidation to the hands. Dial overall with some light surface markings.
MOVEMENT
Please not the present lot is not working and will require a service. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. The movement was likely replaced in the 1940s.
