Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin dated July 20, 1989, and an Extract from the Archives confirming date of manufacture in 1989 and sale on July 14, 1989. Together with an Attestation, a Republic and Canton of Geneva Certificate of Origin, one commemorative medal, booklets, and one bi fold.  Ref. 3960 was designed and made to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Patek Philippe in 1989. The 'Officier' was part of a series of limited edition watches marking the occasion and the first time Patek Philippe made limited edition pieces.
Patek Philippe produced 2200 examples of this model, the majority of which were cased in yellow gold. Only 150 white gold pieces were produced, making the present lot particularly desirable.

A similar example is illustrated in M. Huber & A. Banbery, Patek Philippe, Wristwatches, Vol. 2 Second Edition, page 123.
