- A silver and ivory bust of St George slaying the Dragon, probably Germany, 19th century
- ivoire, argent
- 38 cm high ; 15 in.
with ivory head and hands, the enameled body of the Dragon imitating scales, the Dragon head, sword and armor inset with color stones
Condition
In overall good condition. Minor vertical fissures visible on the ivory. A longer split on the hair to the back face and hands, consistent with the material. The left hand lapis cabochon with a split. Very small lacks to the enameled body of the dragon. Very decorative piece of gothic revival. One redglass cabochon missing at the end of the head.
