Description

Set with a cushion-shaped emerald within a double frame of similarly cut and circular-cut diamonds.

Condition

Accompanied by SSEF report no. 102176, stating that the cushion-shaped emerald measuring approximately 23.60 x 15.20 x 8.30 mm, weighing approximately 21 carats, is of Colombian origin, with a moderate amount of oil in fissures. Emerald green of medium strong saturation, with good transparency, typical inclusions, some surface reaching, minor abrasions and chips visible around the girdle. Diamonds calculated to weigh a total of approximately 17.00 - 19.00 carats, on average I-J colour, SI-I clarity, as gauged and graded within the limitations of the mount. Scratches to the metal consistent with age and wear. Two male clasps at the top of the brooch, possibly to attach to another jewel. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 23 grams.
