Description

Set with a square emerald-cut emerald weighing approximately 3.20 carats, bordered by two marquise-shaped diamonds, accented by single-cut diamonds, size 5¼; circa 1920.

Condition

In good condition, with a small repair to the openwork gallery on one side, minor to moderate wear to the bottom of the shank not visible when worn, the ring slightly out-of-round. The mounting tests as platinum. The emerald estimated to weigh approximately 3.20 carats, the stone of slightly bluish green hue, medium tone and moderately strong saturation; lightly included; moderate wear to the table/crown facet junctions consisting of scratches and abrasions. The two antique marquise-shaped diamonds weighing approximately 1.40 carats and 0.90 carat, are approximately F-G and H-I color, and VS clarity. The additional round diamonds weighing approximately 0.30 carat. Ring size between 5¼ and 5½. Accompanied by AGL report no. 1095514 stating that the emerald is of Colombian origin, clarity enhancement: insignificant to minor, type: traditional.
