Condition

The canvas has a firm relining, the paint surface is quite dirty and the varnish is slightly discoloured. The network of craquelure has become quite pronounced in the sky and there are fine lines of visible retouching to disguise this. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals two campaigns of restoration: the former consists of the aforementioned retouchings in the sky, as well as a denser area above the fountain, lower right; the more recent campaign consists of further, very few and small scattered spot retouchings also most notably in the sky. In overall good condition. Offered in a plain stained wood frame with some very minor damages.
