Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a milky varnish underneath which these are visible, as well as further retouchings scattered throughout the lower right quadrant and particularly surrounding the brass jug, a horizontal line circa 10cm. along the centre of the upper edge, around the aforementioned areas of paint loss, and lastly small retouchings scattered throughout the composition.
