The panel is uncradled, made up of a single plank, and is bevelled, flat and stable. The paint surface is clean and the varnish is discoloured and uneven. There is some craquelure in the face of the figure furthest left, and in the bucket and frying pan in front of him. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a milky varnish underneath which some retouchings are visible, to the figure in the red coat's legs, to the aforementioned bucket and the bale of hay below it, in the shoulder, legs and shoes of the capped figure facing the viewer, and a few scattered in the background upper right. In overall good condition. Offered in a plain wooden frame in good condition.
