Description
- Peter Angelis
- A fruitseller and a man resting, a park beyond
- oil on canvas
- 29.5 x 35.1 cm.; 11 5/8 x 13 3/4 in.
Condition
STRUCTURE
The canvas has been lined.
PAINT SURFACE
The painting appears to be good condition with no apparent damage or loss of paint. The stretcher bar marks are faintly visible and there is an uneven craquelure overall in keeping with the painting's age.
ULTRAVIOLET
Examination under ultraviolet light reveals an opaque discoloured varnish and and an old campaign of retouching focused as far as I can tell, throughout the sky. Further inspection is impeded by the opacity of the varnish.
FRAME
Held in a gilt wood rococco frame.
