Condition
The canvas is lined, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is discoloured. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals very little intervention, save for a few tiny scattered retouchings in the man's nose, and a slightly larger area of retouching in his shoulder. There is also a tiny, more recent retouching to a tiny loss, lower left. In overall very good condition.
