Provenance
By descent in the family collection at Farnborough Hall, Warwickshire.
Condition
The canvas is flat and the paint surface stable; the varnish is uneven and discoloured.
There are no major damages visible to the naked eye. Inspection under UV light reveals very little - only a handful of very minor restorations and a cleaning patch at the stern of the boat on the left. In very good overall condition.
Offered in a gesso and gilt wood frame - much of the gilding around the mouldings at the corners has come off.
