the crowned figure depicted in dhyanasana with the hands in dhyana mudra and holding an orb in the lap, wearing robes open at the chest and falling in long, straight pleats draping over a lotus-petal base

Condition

With scattered small losses including strands of the hair, parts of the crown, small parts of the hands, small parts of the back, and the edge of the nose. There are age splits and cracks throughout. The surface likely stripped of its original finish and a later white pigment applied. There are traces of polychromy present. There are two small holes bored in the back, and two more in the base, for later mounting purposes. There is a naturally occurring wood knot in the back.
