Description

the robes and dhoti falling in folds over the protruding belly and legs, the right hand raised in abhaya mudra and the left holding an orb, the serene face framed by tightly coiled hair and the ushnisha, an oval aperture at the back, fitted wood stand (2)

Condition

With small losses to the fingertips of the proper right hand. With casting flaws including to the back of the head. The bask has an open aperture for consecratory materials (lost) and below the aperture there is a soldered repair. There are small dents, surface wear, minor scratches, and minor casting imperfections throughout. Either a dent or a flaw is present to the bridge of the nose. A later-applied brown lacquer on the sleeves and other scattered areas. Please note that this lot includes a stand, frame or other component made from a type of Chinese hardwood, which, if exported, will require a CITES permit to leave the United States.
