- Jade
- Diameter of widest 1 3/8 in., 3.5 cm
comprising: a pale celadon and gray jade ring carved in relief with the russet-skin forming a boy riding an ox; a zitan ring carved with four panels, two enclosing birds and flowers, and two inscribed quan and shou; a mottled dark brown hardstone carved with a large mythical beast in pursuit of prey; and an agate ring with figural decoration (4)
Condition
The agate ring is in good condition. The jade ring is in overall good condition with only minute chips to the russet relief. The brown hardstone ring is in overall good condition with minor expected wear including minute shallow pits throughout and minute nicks to one edge. The zitan ring is in overall good condition with natural variegation in tonality, and minor expected wear including a fine shallow crack and scattered small losses.
