Catalogue Note
From 1921, the Genevan ceramicist Paul Bonifas dedicated himself to Amédée Ozenfant and Le Corbusier’s journal, ‘l’Esprit Nouveau’ and frequented various Parisian salons. The modernist form, architectural approach and sculptural character of his vases originated with his famous black polished terracotta, and earned him international acclaim among the ceramicists of the 20th century.
