Condition
The reliefs are in overall fairly good condition with minor surface dirt and chips to the high points at some places consistent with age and handling. L'histoire et la Paix: The lower edge and proper right angle with three fissures. There is a vertical hairline fissure to the upper edge running down to the left of the standing figure. La Guerre suivie de la Victoire: There is one restored break in the center of the relief between the two standing figures. The toes of Victory's proper left foot may have been slightly retouched. Both reliefs are supported by a slate panel to the reverse and set into yellow marble frames with minor chips to the edges consistent with age and handling.
