Condition

Both overall very good condition consistent with age and gentle use. Please note that the patination to both lamp bodies and shades is a more overt green when viewed in person.The patination, nickel detailing and silvered finish inside the shades appear to have been refreshed and present with minor scattered rubbing, scuffs and surface scratches throughout. The brackets holding the spheres are slightly loose. The acrylic discs on the underside of the bases and the interior shade mounting screws are later replacements. Please note that these disks are acrylic and not glass as indicated in the lot text. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee electrical components and recommends having all wiring inspected by a licensed electrician. Lamp 1: The base presents with a few shallow dents concentrated to the lower section. The largest two are located near the underside, measuring approximately 3/4 x 1 1/8 in. (2 x 3 cm), the other located near the nickel detailing on the upper section, measures approximately 1/2 in. (1.2 cm) and is not visually disruptive.The shade is loose in its mounting bracket and does not remain in a fixed position. Lamp 2: The lower section of the base presents with a shallow dent measuring approximately 1 1/4 in (3 cm) diameter and is not visually disruptive. The shade presents with two shallow dents, one located near the top and measures approximately 3/8 in. (1 cm) diameter, the other located near the side near the shade mounting bracket and measures approximately 1/8 in. (3 mm) diameter, neither are visually disruptive.
