Catalogue Note
The Golden Age was the author's first collection of childhood reminiscences. Reviewing the book on its first publication in 1895, Swinburne claimed it was "one of the few books which are well-nigh too praiseworthy for praise". The second volume, Dream Days, includes Grahame's short story 'The Reluctant Dragon'.
