Condition
Overall in very good condition. The surfaces with scattered scuffs, scratches, nicks, dents, abrasions, and some surface soiling concentrated to the recesses of the design, all consistent with age and use. The surface and underside of the base with some scattered minor instances of oxidation throughout, and the underside also with some instances of rubbing. The ashtray is removable and comes fitted with a resting prop for one's cigarette or cigar.

These hand-forged “Jack Rabbit” ashstands were a design collaboration between Thomas Molesworth and architect Mary Coltor. As one of the first widely recognized female architects, Colter was the designer for many landmark buildings in the American West.
