Catalogue Note

Beechey's Narrative involves the whole theatre of the Pacific Ocean and contains important material on Alaska, the California coast and San Francisco. Beechey also stopped at Tahiti, Easter Island and Pitcairn Island where he interviewed the last survivor of the Bounty mutiny, John Adams. "One of the most valuable of modern voyages." (Hill).
