Catalogue Note

Uncommon. A large collection of Tatikian's characteristic costume plates depicting Turks, Greeks, Albanians, Bedouins, Persians and other nationalities in their various trades and classes. Many of the subjects are recorded in the Atabey collection and a number illustrated in Navari's catalogue of the collection. A few appear to be after photographs by James Robertson taken in the early 1850s.
