Catalogue Note

RARE AND IMPORTANT EARLY MISSIONARY IMPRINT. This is the second book of two separately published parts of the first printing of the Old Testament in Hawaiian at the Mission Presses at Oahu. A number of printings of Bible various books of the Bible had been printed around 1827. The first New Testament appeared in 1835, and was reprinted in 1837. A complete Old Testament followed in 1838-9. These printings were issued separately, though the 1837-9 printings of New and Old Testaments are sometimes found together forming the complete Bible in Hawaiian.
