Catalogue Note
An important photographic record documenting the British campaign on the North West Frontier. The photographs include 4 of falconry and local tribesmen, 12 views of Agra, and 19 documenting the Tirah Campaign and the Buyer Field Expedition during the Siege at Malakand; one image shows in the aftermath of the attack and capture of the Tanga Pass shows members of the 10th Battalion and 3rd Bombay Light Infantry resting on the battlefield. Winston Churchill took part in this campaign as a member of the Malakand Field Force. The panoramas include the Tanga Pass, Malakand, the fort at Chakdara and the Swat Valley.
